This conference offers an overview of the ethical, economic, and aesthetic issues raised by AI in music and explores ways to approach it realistically and fairly within an ever-evolving artistic landscape.
Serge Lacasse is a full professor of musicology at Université Laval’s Faculty of Music and director of the Laboratoire audionumérique de recherche et création (LARC). His research, at the crossroads of musicology and research-creation, focuses on recorded popular music and the integration of technologies, including artificial intelligence, into artistic practices. Author and co-editor of several reference works, he also leads innovative creative projects that bridge the gap between theory and musical practice.
