Lous and the Yakuza, born Marie-Pierra Kakoma in 1996 in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, grew up between her homeland and Brussels. Her cosmopolitan style allows her to tell the story of a young Black woman in Europe. Discovered in Brussels clubs, she signed with Sony Music and rose to fame with singles Dilemme, Tout est gore, and Solo. Her debut album, Gore (2020), reflects her struggles turned into artistry. She has collaborated with The Supreme, Mara Sattei, and Sfera Ebbasta, and performed at the 2021 Sanremo Festival.
