New York–born artist sombr (Shane Boose) began making music in his Lower East Side bedroom while studying classical music at LaGuardia High School. His 2022 breakout hit "Caroline" launched him into global recognition, followed by a series of self-written and co-produced releases amassing over 500 million streams. His debut album I Barely Know Her (2025) debuted at #1 on Spotify’s Global Albums Chart and includes multiple Billboard Hot 100 hits.
